Every firm has that “back of the napkin” moment when the germ of the idea for a company is conceived. The concept of what OpenEye could be was launched in 2002 as the three founders sat a small table at an outdoor cafe at Stanford University overlooking works of Auguste Rodin.
Our premise then is the same as it is now: many of today’s challenges need to be solved by joining existing ideas with newly developed ones, preferably by diverse teams who have a process which seeds creativity and innovation. Therefore we leverage human centered design to address challenges in schools and communities. We believe the people closest to a problem are also those closest to the solution. By lifting the voice of the voiceless, we empower groups in a solution finding process to unlock intractable problems.
And because we have a foot in Sweden and the US, we track, and capitalize on, what works in social innovation and change.
