We collaborated with the School of Earth Sciences dean and associate deans to assess the level and quality of services provided by the school to its constituents
Client profileStanford University School of Earth Sciences is one of three schools at Stanford awarding both graduate and undergraduate degrees. It is composed of four departments Environmental Earth System Science, Geological and Environmental Sciences, Geophysics, and Energy Resources Engineering) and three interdisciplinary programs (Earth Systems Program, Graduate Program in Earth, Energy & Environmental Sciences, Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Environment & Resources).
Client needMembers of the leadership team within the school (the dean and the associate deans) had two main questions on their minds: (1) how well were the services of the dean's office perceived by the departments within the school? and (2) what areas of improvement could be identified among the staff within the dean's office. OpenEye collaborated with over twenty staff members, faculty and administrators to assess the level and quality of services provided by the school to its constituent departments and programs. Main takeawaysAn analysis of services within the school provided knoweldge on where overlapping resoruces existed and where new services needed to be developed. The results of this work were leveraged to re-vitalize the school's strategic plan and implement practices within the school designed to help staff realize important organizational goals. |
